Volvo has built three new 2015 models with an eye towards improved fuel economy.

That'll be accomplished through Volvo's new standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder Drive-E engine that provides drastically increased fuel efficiency. Drive-E will replace the engines in at least eight different Volvo models and is expected to be featured throughout Volvo's lineup of vehicles.

Initially, the Drive-E engine will be featured in the 2015 XC60 crossover, the S60 sport sedan and the new V60 wagon. Drive-E, which comes in two versions, powers each car via an eight-speed transmission.

Drive-E is a highly-efficient engine that still manages to supply the power that Volvo owners have come to expect from their vehicle. The Drive-E is offered a number of variants throughout the three models, but consistently shows improved gas mileage compared to the Volvo's previous engine.

The three models all show improved gas mileage and sustained power. It doesn't get much better than that.

The S60 sees a 20% increase in fuel efficiency when accounting for the Drive-E engine. The XC60 and V60 also saw significant improvement in both city and highway driving.

For the time being, the Drive-E is only available in front-wheel drive. However, it's expected to be available in all-wheel drive for next year's launch of the crossover XC90, which will be unveiled this fall.

At North Point Volvo, we're excited to offer a lineup of a fuel-efficient cars and SUVs that provide great value to our loyal customers.
