When we get a new piece of technology, often times we say we "love" it, becoming temporarily obsessed with it until a newer model is released. Then, we "love" that new model and forget about the old completely. However, this isn't always the case. Sometimes, when we say we love an object ,we truly do, and that love can last and last and last.

Such is the story of a man and his 1966 Volvo P1800.

Irv Gordon, now retired, has recently hit the 3,000,000 mile mark on his P1800. That's no typo, folks - three million miles have been achieved on a single Volvo vehicle. That's some serious commitment.

So, how did he do it? Why, consistent repair and maintenance of course! "I bought my Volvo P1800 on a Friday and immediately fell in love. I couldn't stop driving the car. It was a holiday weekend, and I brought the car back to the dealership the following Monday for its 1500-mile service."1.

The one-millionth mile was hit back in 1987 while driving around the Tavern on the Green in Central Park, New York. The two-millionth mile was achieved in 2002 also in New York, driving down Times Square. Now, the three-millionth rolled over while driving on Seward Highway way up in Alaska.

Have you ever hit a significant milestone with one of your beloved vehicles? Tell us your story in the blog comments below; we'd love to hear it!
