From all the features and amenities associated with our new Volvo models, the one that can really save you from some unfortunate situations is the On Call App usable on your smartphone. On the automaker's Facebook page, they're taking ideas for new ways the app can help out and you can head there right now and give your input.


Whether you need towing, a computerized route on a map, help getting your keys out of your locked car, or an emergency response for urgent situations, the On Call app is there  to give you a hand. However, Volvo wants to expand its usefulness and is very open to suggestions. Simplicity and practicality are the words of the day and they are sure to deliver.


There are a couple suggestions that are gaining popularity. One of which is the ability to find your keys if they've been lost or simply misplaced somewhere around the house. Another two are a reminder for when your parking is about to expire and a way to pay that parking price right from the application. A fourth is a way to find the nearest gas station when the needle starts to get too close to the E for comfort.


Mikael Karlsson, Mobile & Digital Manager at Volvo Car Corporation, has been overwhelmed by the response given to the open suggestion box. While it shows that people want more from the product, it also proves that it's something the Volvo community relies on, something they really like and engages them in a way that surprised the automaker. And it definitely shows they're on the right track.
